WMPC Studios - Lapeer, Michigan WMPC, 1230 AM is owned and operated by the Calvary Bible Church of Lapeer, Michigan. The station began broadcasting on December 6, 1926 from a homemade transmitter in the Methodist Protestant Church. In fact that’s where WMPC gets its name. Later the church changed its name to the Calvary Bible Church.WMPC is one of the oldest continuously operating Christian radio stations in the United States. It has only had three managers over the years. Rev. Frank Hemmingway, Rev. Arnold Bracy and the current manager, Robert (Bob) Baldwin.Gospel 1230 WMPC plays a careful mix of inspirational music and God honoring programs, which continue to meet the needs of listeners in Lapeer, Flint, Imlay City and Northern Oakland County.WMPC is non-commercial and holds a Sharathon once a year (usually in the Spring) to raise the revenue needed to continue broadcasting.If you'd like to contribute to WMPC, email your name, address and telephone number and the amount you intend to give to wmpc@chartermi.net.
